Code of Conduct

At Freeman Fisher we are committed to providing our clients with the highest possible levels of service. However, if at any point you become unhappy or concerned about the service we provide, we want you to raise the matter with us so that we can do our best to resolve this to your satisfaction.

In first instance, please contact the partner working on your case to discuss your concerns and we will do our best to resolve any issues at this stage. If you would like to make a formal complaint, please contact Freeman Fisher’s Managing Partner, Alex Megaw, who is responsible for complaints handling and will thoroughly investigate the matter.

Solicitors Regulation Authority

As solicitors, our activities are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and we are required to comply with the SRA’s Code of Conduct. The SRA investigate possible breaches of the Code of Conduct, for example, where solicitors have acted dishonesty, taken or lost client’s money or treated clients differently because of their age, disability or other characteristic. If you are concerned about our behaviour, you can raise this with the SRA at:

Address: The Cube, 199 Wharfside Street, Birmingham B1 1RN

Telephone: 0870 606 2555

Legal Ombudsman

If following our investigation of your concern, we are unable to resolve this or if you prefer, you may contact the Legal Ombudsman to independently review the matter.

Before accepting a complaint for investigation, the Legal Ombudsman will check that you have tried to resolve this with us first.

There are time limits which apply to you raising your complaint with the Legal Ombudsman. You must take your complaint to the Legal Ombudsman:

  • within six months of receiving a final response to your complaint; and
  • no more than six years from the date of the act/omission; or
  • no more than three years from when you should reasonably have known there was cause for complaint
